Cambodian Foreign Minister To Attend the AMM Retreat in the Philippines Next Week

Cambodia’s Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) in Boracay, the Philippines.

According to a press release made public this morning, H.E. Prak Sokhonn will attend the AMM Retreat on Feb. 20-21, 2017, at the invitation of H.E. Perfecto R. Yasay, JR., Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.

During the meeting, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers will discuss and exchange views on pressing issues that could pose threats to peace, security and stability in Southeast Asian region and to push ahead the ASEAN’s agenda on cooperation with ASEAN dialogue partners in an effort to maintain ASEAN’s centrality amidst the growing uncertainties of the world politics and economics as well as the evolving regional architecture, it pointed out.

The Philippines has chosen the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World” for ASEAN Chairmanship in 2017, it pointed out.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN establishment, said the same source, stressing that many activities are expected to be organised to celebrate this important event among the 10 Member States.
