Cambodian Information Minister Pays Courtesy Call on Vietnamese DPM

AKP Hanoi, Minister of Information of Cambodia H.E. Khieu Kanharith, accompanied by his five directors-general, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, in Hanoi this afternoon.

In the meeting, both sides spoke highly of the close relations and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, especially between the two Ministries of Information.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith briefed the Vietnamese DPM on the outcomes of yesterday's working meetings with Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications H.E. Truong Minh Tuan and President of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) H.E. Nguyen The Ky.

H.E. Minister underlined the media's key role in fostering the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam.

For his part, H.E. Vu Duc Dam highly valued the outcomes and suggested the exchange of visit at all levels. He also praised both sides for their efforts in promoting the role of the two countries' media.

The high-level delegation of the Cambodian Ministry of Information led by its Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith and his spouse arrived in Hanoi on Dec. 20 for a six-day working visit in Vietnam.

Cambodia and Vietnam commemorate this year the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
