Cambodian, Lao PMs To Inaugurate Facilities at an International Border Check-point

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his Lao counterpart H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith will preside over the inauguration ceremony of the facilities at an international border check-point between the two nations.

The inauguration ceremony will take place at Trapeang Kriel (Cambodian province of Stung Treng)-Nong Nokkhiane (Lao province of Champasak) international border check-point on Jan. 10, 2017, said a press release of Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith will deliver speeches proceeded with the ribbon cutting by both Prime Ministers to officially open these facilities, it underlined.

After the inauguration ceremony, it added, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will visit Don Sahong Hydropower Dam located in Champasak province.

According to the press release, the opening of new border check-point with Lao PDR marks a new development in bilateral relations between the two countries. The opening will also meet the needs to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation as well as to further facilitate cross border trade, tourism sector and connectivity between the two countries.
