Cambodian Mine Action Authority Delegation Attends Annual Meeting on Mine Action in Geneva

A delegation of Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) has been attending the 20th International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisers in Geneva, Switzerland.

The annual event, which runs from Feb. 7 to 10 under the theme “Twenty years of mine action: Needs driven, People centred,” provides platform for each delegation to present and share experience on the progress of mine action and other main issues including humanitarian assistance, said a press release issued by CMAA.

The Cambodian delegation, led by Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and CMAA Secretary General H.E. Ly Thuch, will hold meetings with representatives of donor countries, UN Agencies, and leaders of Geneva international Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).

Through this annual meeting, the Cambodian delegation will share experience related to mine clearance sector with other delegations from different countries in order to learn more about demining projects and new technologies in this field.
