Cambodian Minister of Tourism Receives a Group of Chinese Tour Operators

Cambodia's Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon received here late last week representatives of five Chinese companies led by Mr. Yuan Hao, CEO of China CYTS Tours Holding Co., Ltd., according to the ministry's news release.

Mr. Yuan Hao expressed his delegation's interest to invest in tourism-related sectors after conducted some studies on Cambodian tourism potential.

For his part, H.E. Thong Khon highlighted tourism development in Cambodia, particularly the potential of natural tourism, along with peace, harmonisation and political stability. He also underlined the close friendship and good cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of China.

Apart from China CYTS Tours Holding Co., Ltd., the other four companies are China Enterprise News Group, Key Royal Capital, Yunshan Capital, and Shu & Cambodia Tianyu Company.

In June last year, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism has launched the White Paper on China Ready for Cambodia Tourism.

The launch of the 31-page white paper was aimed to attract some 2 million Chinese visitors to the Kingdom by 2020.

In 2015, about 4.8 million foreign tourists visited Cambodia, among them 700,000 are Chinese.

Currently, China is one of the three main tourism markets of Cambodia beside Vietnam, South Korea.
