Cambodian Monarch Sends Congratulatory Letter to New Thai King

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boroneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory letter to His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn, the new King of Thailand.

"After Your Majesty accepted an invitation to ascend the Throne from the President of the National Legislative Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand as the Tenth King of the Chakri Dynasty, I wish to convey, on this auspicious occasion, my warmest congratulations to Your Majesty as well as my best wishes for Your continued good health and happiness and for the peace and prosperity of Your Kingdom and people," said the Cambodian monarch in his letter dated Dec. 2.

"I am confident that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation existing between our two Kingdoms and Buddhist peoples will continue to be developed and enhanced under Your Majesty's wise and benevolent Reign," added His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni.

His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn, 64, has become Thailand's new king, succeeding his late father King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on Oct. 13, 2016.

Cambodia and Thailand are the two neighboring Kingdoms in the region.
