Cambodian NA President Receives Courtesy Call from CPVCC Secretary

Visiting Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), H.E. Tran Cam Tu paid a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia at the NA Palace, Phnom Penh yesterday.

H.E. Tran Cam Tu, also Head of the CPVCC's Commission for Inspection, congratulated Cambodia on its development in all sectors as well as the results of the 6th National Election in last July.

The CPVCC secretary also expressed his optimism that Cambodia will continue attaining more achievements under the shade of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, and under the leadership of the NA and the Royal Government.

For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin informed his guest about solemn commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of January 7 Victory Day over the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime held here early this week, stressing that Cambodian people have considered January 7, 1979 as their second birthday and a new era which has made Cambodia enjoy peace and current development.

Samdech Heng Samrin also thanked the Vietnamese side for its great support to Cambodia over the past 40 years.
