Cambodian PM Announces to End Nationwide Water Distribution Campaign

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, announced here this morning the end of the nationwide water distribution campaign which began in late April.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of the Asia Euro University, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said despite his announcement to end the campaign, the water distribution continues in the areas facing with water shortage.

The PM’s announcement was made after rain has dropped in most part of the country including Phnom Penh capital city.

The premier also called for continued attention to other natural disasters such as windstorms and to the rehabilitation and construction of water sources.

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen appealed to people to reserve water for daily use.

Cambodia has been seriously hit by drought. According to the National Committee for Disaster Management, 18/25 capital and provinces have suffered from this natural disaster.
