Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning visiting H.E. Raja Randhir Singh, Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), prior to the official opening ceremony of the 41st OCA General Assembly hosted by Cambodia.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, in the courtesy meeting, H.E. Raja Randhir Singh highly appreciated Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership which has brought rapid development to Cambodia.
He expressed his strong belief on Cambodia’s capacity to organise the SEA Games in 2023.
For his part, Samdech Techo Prime Minister expressed warm welcome to H.E. Raja Randhir Singh and his delegation, and noted that even though Asia has a lot of people, not many athletes could win medals from the Olympic Games.
Winning medals is one thing, but another important thing is sport ethics, he said, recommending the OCA General Assembly to work to strengthen sport ethics.
More than 300 sport delegates from 55 countries around the world are gathering in the 41st OCA General Assembly in Phnom Penh from Oct. 1 to 5, 2022.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), said this is a rare opportunity for Cambodia to seek full international support for Cambodia’s sports policy as it is preparing to host the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games 2023 as well as the Asian Youth Games 2029.
The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) became one of the 45 members of OCA in 1994.
