Cambodian PM Highlights Main Achievements in Past 39 Years

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), has laid stress on main achievements of Cambodia, particularly the economic sector, after the year zero of 1979.

In his speech at the commemoration of the 39th anniversary of victory over the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime (Jan. 7, 1979-2018) held here this morning at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia has furthered implemented with strong will and effectiveness process of state reforms at all levels and sectors. It has a positive repercussion on state institution's governances, strengthening of justice, social equity, national development and is enjoying people's accolades.

Cambodia has maintained peace, political stability, and firm security to guarantee the country's realisation of further achievements in process of socio-economic development and improvement of living condition of the people, he added.

Cambodia has scored a growth of 6.9 percent in 2017. Such a strong growth has been reflected through progress made in the fields of industry, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and services, including those of tourism and real estate, he underlined.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the people's living condition has been improved and last year, the income per capita reached US$1,435, while the poverty rate is dropping to below 10 percent.
