Cambodian PM Holds Talks with Timor Leste Counterpart

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held talks with his Timor Leste counterpart, H.E. Rui Maria de Araujo, in Kuala Lumpur on June 2 afternoon, on the sidelines of the 25th World Economic Forum on ASEAN.

H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, told the National Television of Cambodia (TVK) that H.E. Rui Maria de Araujo expressed his appreciation to the existing cooperation between the two countries and wished to further expand it.

H.E. Rui Maria de Araujo invited Samdech Techo Hun Sen to pay an official visit to his country as the president and former prime minister of Timor Leste have already visited Cambodia, and he expressed profound thanks to Cambodia for her support to Timor Leste’s candidacy as the 11th member of ASEAN, said the delegate minister.

For his part, he added, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia is the 10th member of ASEAN, and if Timor Leste became the 11th member, Cambodia and Timor Leste are sisters in the ASEAN framework.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also invited H.E. Rui Maria de Araujo to attend the 26th World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Cambodia in 2017.
