Cambodian PM Holds Working Discussion with Chinese President

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held yesterday a high-level working discussion with Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting in Beijing, China.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s official Facebook page, H.E. Xi Jinping expressed his delight to meet with the Cambodian premier again after the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing in last May.

The Chinese president reaffirmed that Cambodia and Samdech Techo Hun Sen are an old, true and reliable friend of China and the Chinese people.

H.E. Xi Jinping spoke highly of the current relationship between Cambodia and China, adding that both sides have continued to further promote the closer people-to-people relations.

The Chinese leader also showed his support to Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership which brought about peace and political stability to the country, and affirmed China’s continued support to Cambodia without interfering in the Kingdom’s internal affairs.

Besides, the Chinese side pledged to convince more investors to do business in Cambodia and to help the Kingdom on mine and UXO clearance.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated H.E. Xi Jinping on his reelection as the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee at the 19th CPC National Congress.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister requested H.E. Xi Jinping to help push for the construction of Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk expressway, the main belt road of Cambodia’s economic corridor.

Next year, both countries are going to commemorate solemnly the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
