Cambodian PM: I Will Not Add Fuel to Fire

“I won’t bring fuel from Asia to add to the fire in Europe,” said this evening Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, about his forthcoming visit to Europe, while presiding over the official opening ceremony of the 9th Sea Festival in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province under the theme “Bay of Peace, Bay of Hope”.
War is going on in Europe, where there used to be peace, and what has been happening in Europe has become a big topic, he added.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen said he will have a working visit in France on Dec. 13 and besides meeting and working meal with the French president, he will attend an international conference on solidarity with the Ukrainians.
The main topic of the talks with the French president as well as at the international conference will be about peace, he pointed out, stressing that the current hot topic in the world is “peace and war”.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chair of ASEAN 2022, will lead a high-level delegation to attend and co-chair the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations with H.E. Charles MICHEL, President of the European Council, in Brussels, Belgium on Dec. 14.
Prior to the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will pay a working visit to the French Republic. H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, will receive Samdech Techo Prime Minister at the Élysée Palace, and will host a working dinner in his honour. Samdech Techo will also participate in a Conference “Standing with the Ukrainian people”, meet the Movement of Entrepreneurship of France and Vinci Airport.
