Cambodian PM: Legal Measure Taken Against Fake Fingerprints

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said legal action will be taken against those who insulted the King and deceived people.

Among the fingerprints on a petition submitted by the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party to His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, in late May seeking his intervention over the current political situation, competent authorities found a case of the same fingerprint for 82 people, he pointed out.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of the Royal School of Administration in Phnom Penh yesterday, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said this is a serious insult to His Majesty the King and a deception of people, therefore authorities have to take action.

The Cambodian premier took the opportunity to send a message to all foreign ambassadors accredited to Cambodia not to accuse the royal government of using the court. This is the royal government's response in law enforcement, he underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen added that prayers do not help anything, we do not have to worry if we do not commit any illegal act.
