Cambodian PM Presides Over Opening Ceremony of 41st OCA General Assembly

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presided over the opening ceremony of the 41st General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held here at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel this morning.
This is an appropriate and important time for Cambodia to exchange ideas and practical experiences as well as inputs as the Kingdom is preparing toward hosting the SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games next year, underlined Samdech Techo Hun Sen in his opening remarks.
This year is a busy and important year for Cambodia which, as the rotating Chair of ASEAN, is highly committed to be based on the principles of cooperation, peaceful coexistence and equality, contributing to solving any challenges that may arise eventually, in the region, to ensure peace, harmonisation and comprehensive partnership, aiming to boost the speed and sustainability of development for shared future, regional security, and common development and prosperity, he said.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen said sports have played a very important role in diplomacy and international relations. The organisation and participation of sports events reflects the strengthening of friendship, solidarity, relations and close cooperation between the participating states and their peoples.
More than 300 sport delegates from 55 countries around the world are gathering in the 41st OCA General Assembly in Phnom Penh from Oct. 1 to 5, 2022.
H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), said this is a rare opportunity for Cambodia to seek full international support for Cambodia’s sports policy as it is preparing to host the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games 2023 as well as the Asian Youth Games 2029.
The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) became one of the 45 members of OCA in 1994.
