Cambodian PM Recalled Country’s Peace Building Process

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen shared some memories of the country’s peace building process along with a picture that he and his colleagues took at the Great Wall in Beijing, China in 1991.

According to a post on his official Facebook page this morning, this photo was taken when the Cambodian premier and his spouse paid a visit to the Great Wall on the sidelines of the Supreme National Council meeting before the signing of the Paris Peace Agreement on Oct. 23, 1991.

We need to join hands in maintaining this hard-earned peace. The contribution from all compatriots has brought about happiness and progress to our country up to the present day, underlined Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

With peace, he added, every citizen has full right to choose religious belief as well as to celebrate any festivals without coercion. Only one day left for January and the Chinese New Year is approaching following the Universal New Year. It’s true that Cambodia celebrates three New Years a year universal, Chinese and Khmer New Years, said Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
