AKP Phnom Penh, August 04, 2022 — Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here at the Peace Palace this afternoon visiting Australian Foreign Minister H.E. Ms. Penny Wong.

The meeting touched on bilateral cooperation, Myanmar issue, partnership with ASEAN, and so on, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.

H.E. Ms. Penny Wong expressed her high appreciation for the organisation of the 55th ASEAN Foreign Minister Meeting and Related Meetings by Cambodia and the Kingdom’s role and efforts in the Myanmar crisis.

Australia hopes to expand its parthnership with Cambodia as well as with ASEAN, she added.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reiterated the committment of Cambodia as well as ASEAN to help Myanmar to return to normal.

The Premier expressed his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Australia, and hoped that the cooperation between both countries will be further expanded, especially in the he fields of trade and investment.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also requested Australia to increase the quota for the import of Cambodian milled rice and open market for more Cambodian products.
