Cambodian PM Receives Chinese Commerce Minister

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here yesterday afternoon visiting Minister of Commerce of China H.E. Gao Hucheng.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, the purpose of H.E. Gao Hucheng's visit to Cambodia is to examine the existing cooperation between both nations as well as the connectivity between the Chinese government's One Belt, One Road policy and the Royal Government of Cambodia's Rectangular Strategy in order to set forth strategy and joint project between the two countries.

The visit is also aimed to encourage more Chinese investors and entrepreneurs to Cambodia, and to promote the export of Cambodian agricultural products to China.

The Chinese commerce minister informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of his discussions with Cambodian relevant institutions over four issues namely road, airport, railway and agriculture.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly valued the connectivity between China's One Belt, One Road policy and Cambodia's Rectangular Strategy, and encouraged both sides to work closely together on this matter so as to boost the socio-economic development of the two countries.

During the meeting, a honorary decoration was conferred on H.E. Gao Hucheng by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
