Cambodian PM Speaks Highly of China’s Support for Infrastructure Construction

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has once again expressed his profound thanks to China for its active support for infrastructure development in Cambodia.
At the inauguration ceremony of Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge Stung Trang-Kroch Chhmar this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that of the total more than 15,000 kilometres of road in Cambodia, some 3,000 kilometres had been built under the financial assistance from China, while among 20 major bridges, 10 had been constructed with China’s support.
The Cambodian Premier continued that China will further support some more road and bridge construction prioritised by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
“I give priority to physical infrastructure not for my travel, but for all the people’s travel and transport,” he underlined.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined that the Royal Government had planned around US$3,500 million for physical infrastructure development, but some US$2,300 million had been spent on COVID-19, therefore Cambodia had to seek support from friendly nations, especially China, Japan and South Korea.
The Prime Minister said besides roads and bridges, there are more infrastructure development projects including hospital construction.
