Cambodian PM Suggests Relocation of Freedom Park

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has requested the Phnom Penh Municipal Hall and the Ministry of Interior to relocate the Freedom Park.

The current location of the Freedom Park is in the tourism and historical site of Phnom Penh, therefore it should be used as a park or a place for musical performances of disabled musicians, while the Freedom Park should be moved to another place, outside the city, said the premier while presiding over the celebration of the 18th National and 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, in Phnom Penh this morning.

The current 1.2-hectare Freedom Park, located in Khan Daun Penh, near Wat Phnom historical resort, was inaugurated in November 2010.

The new location of the Freedom Park would be in Khan Russey Keo, in the northern part of Phnom Penh capital.
