Cambodian PM Supports Military Cooperation with Indonesia

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has voiced his full support to the military cooperation with Indonesia.

H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister told reporters after the meeting between the Cambodian premier and visiting Indonesian Defense Minister H.E. Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh yesterday afternoon that Samdech Techo Hun Sen supported the Indonesian side’s request to have a memorandum of understanding to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation in the field of national defense between the two countries.

H.E. Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu lauded the rapid development in Cambodia and briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the outcome of his bilateral talk with Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Gen. Tea Banh, Minister of the National Defense, and expressed his intention to further tighten the cooperation on national defense between the two countries which have been established over ten years ago.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked Indonesia for her key role in the peace building process in Cambodia in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The Cambodian premier also called for more cooperation on anti-terrorism.

H.E. Gen. Ryamizard Ryacudu arrived in Phnom Penh on Aug. 9 for a three-day visit in the Kingdom.
