Cambodian Population Expected to Increase to 25 Million in 2050

The total population of Cambodia is expected to rise to some 25 million by 2050, according to Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Addressing to the celebration of the 7th National Clean City Day 2019 held here this morning under theme "Clean City: City Feels the Warmth", Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the demographic growth of Cambodian people is at 1-1.5 percent annually.

"Based on the forecast, in 2030, the total population of Cambodia would reach 20 million and increase to 25 million by 2050 and most of the people would migrate to the cities," stressed the Premier.

Currently, the total population of Cambodia is about 16 million.
