Cambodian Secretary of State for Civil Aviation Receives KOICA Acting President

Cambodia's Secretary of State of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) H.E. Mao Havannall held talks here yesterday afternoon with a visiting delegation of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) headed by its Acting President H.E. Choi Sungho.

According to a KOICA's press release, the purpose of this meeting is to discuss Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) project and KOICA's development cooperation activities with Cambodia.

H.E. Mao Havannall expressed profound thanks to the Korean government as well as KOICA for their assistance in contribution to the development of Cambodia, in particular to the CATC project which responds well to Cambodia's need in developing its civil aviation sector.

For his part, H.E. Choi Sungho said that the establishment of CATC becomes another milestone for the development of Cambodian civil aviation while KOICA has been supporting projects in health, rural development, transportation, and education sector.

After the meeting, the KOICA delegation visited the SSCA's CATC building funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea via KOICA with the total budget of US$10.10 million.

The SSCA side requested KOICA to dispatch more professional Korean experts to CATC for two more years.

Inaugurated in March this year, CATC is designed to develop the country's economy, to improve capacity and human resources in the field of civil aviation, and to ensure security, safety and air transport services with high quality.
