Cambodian Senate President Receives a French Senate Member

Cambodia has been adhering to the principle of liberal multi-party system, affirmed Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakei Say Chhum, President of Senate.

While receiving a visiting Member of the Senate of France H.E. Christophe-Andre Frassa at the Senate Palace late last week, Samdech Say Chhum underlined that the participation of 20 political parties in the upcoming National Election reflects that Cambodia has fully respected the principle of liberal multi-party democracy, especially the country’s constitution and existing laws.

He also expressed the Royal Government’s strong stance to ensure safety, security and good order so that the election is conducted in a free, fair, just, non-violent and acceptable manner.

On the bilateral relations, Samdech Say Chhum lauded the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples, particularly between both nations’ legislative bodies.

The senate president thanked the Government and people of France for their assistance for the development of Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Christophe-Andre Frassa expressed thanks to Samdech Say Chhum for the warm hospitality and conveyed regards from the president of the French senate and president of the Parliamentary of La Francophonie (AFP) to the Cambodian senate president.

H.E. Christophe-Andre Frassa shared the same idea with Samdech Say Chhum over the relations between Cambodia and France and appreciated Cambodia, a French-speaking country, for its contribution to enhancing French in the ASEAN region.
