Cambodian Senior Government Official Reacts Against Corruption Perceptions Index 2016

Spokesperson of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Secretary of State at the Office of the Council of Ministers H.E. PhaySiphan yesterday reacted against the Transparency International's report on Corruption Perceptions Index 2016.

It was a subversion report, he told a local media, adding that it does not respond to the UN standard and it tends to be against the royal government.

H.E. PhaySiphan said there are a lot of reports highlighting progress in Cambodia. A report of the World Bank showed the world that Cambodia would achieve an economic growth of 7.6 percent on average for the next 20 years, he underlined.

According to the Corruption Perceptions Index 2016, Cambodia ranked 156th among 176 countries. The report said Cambodia scored 21 in 2016 as in 2015.
