Cambodian Senior Officials Visit Japan

A group of Cambodian senior officials of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has been on an official visit in Japan, at the invitation from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said the ministry’s news release.

The delegation, which includes officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport involving the transport sector, and the representatives of General Department of Taxation, General Department of Customs and Excise, General Department of Identification and Department of Traffic Police and Public Order, was led by H.E. Tauch Chankosal, Secretary of State at the MPWT, it added.

During their stay in Japan from Feb. 13 to 17, the delegation will also attend the JICA’s training programme on “Vehicle Registration and Inspection Administration System” in Tokyo, it pointed out.

According to the same source, the purpose of the official visit was to exchange views and experience on Vehicle Registration and Inspection Administration Systems (MOTAS) in Japan. This would also give an opportunity for Cambodian delegation to learn more from the good practices so as to improve the newly established and launched Automation Systems in Cambodia.
