Cambodian Soccer Team Beats Chinese Taipei 2-0 in 2019 AFC Asian Cup UAE Qualifier Round

Cambodian national soccer team defeated Chinese Taipei team 2-0 in the second leg of 2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers play-off round held yesterday evening at the National Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh, with the participation of ten thousands of supporters.

With this result, the Cambodian national team will move to next matches for the AFC Asian Cup to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2019.

Last week, the first leg held in Kaohsiung city, ended in a 2-2 draw.

“The victory of the Cambodian national soccer team is the pride of our whole nation,” underlined Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in a Facebook post yesterday night.

The Cambodian premier also called for more participation from the youths in the sports sector, and encouraged the athletes to be ready for the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.

In addition, Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced to award the footballers and their coach with a cash prize of US$1,000 each.
