Cambodian, Thai Customs Administrations Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Relevant officials of the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) of Cambodia and the Customs Department of Thailand gathered in Siem Reap province yesterday in a meeting to strengthen and boost the bilateral cooperation between both countries' customs departments.

The meeting was co-chaired by Director General of GDCE H.E. Kun Nhim and Director General of Customs Department of Thailand H.E. Kulit Sombatsiri.

At the meeting, both sides agreed on a list of goods to be inspected and on the gates for the circulation of those goods from the third country; on continuation to cooperate with competent ministries- institutions in elaborating a MoU on land transport of goods; on types of information, mechanisms for information exchange, and on convening the meeting regularly to follow the work progress and so on.

The Thai party agreed to organise a study visit at Padang Besar-Sadao gate in coming October so that Cambodia can get the best experience of Thailand in customs procedure implementation at train station.

The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Thailand in February 2018.
