Cambodian Tourism Minister Attends a Tourism Forum in China

Cambodia's Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon attended yesterday the 7th Dunhuang Tour on Silk Road International Tourism Festival in Gansu province, China.

Taking place on June 19-20, the event attracted many tourism administrators, tourism officials of the countries along the Silk Road and representatives from across the tourism industry in and outside China. This annual forum is a platform to promote international tourism cooperation.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism's news release, on the sidelines of this international event, H.E. Thong Khon held talks with H.E. Lin Duo, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Gansu Provincial Committee, and H.E. Tang Renjian, Governor, People's Government, Gansu province. The meetings focused mainly on tourism cooperation promotion and direct flight from Gansu to Cambodia.

In the first four months of this year, Cambodia received in total 1.9 million foreign visitors, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent, of them more than 360,000 are Chinese tourists, up 31.3 percent.
