Cambodia’s Rubber Latex Export Increases Sharply in First Semester

Cambodia exported a total of 65,556 tons of rubber latex in the first half of 2017, up 197 percent, compared to the same period a year earlier, according to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries released this week.

The total rubber plantation under cultivation rose 11.6 percent to 433,827 hectares, stated the report, therefore the total cultivation in the first six months of this year was 92,379 tons, up from 54,320 tons or 70 percent.

In the same period, Cambodia exported rubber latex to Vietnam, Malaysia, China, Japan, Singapore, India, South Korea, and Spain with an average price of US$1,450 per ton.
