Cambodia’s Senate President Meets Russian Diplomat


Cambodian President of Senate Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received a courtesy call by Russian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Anatoly Borovik at the Senate Palace here this morning.

During the meeting, the Russian diplomat congratulated Cambodia for the successful host of the Capital, Provincial, City, District and Khan council elections held on May 26, 2024.

He added that Cambodia is an old friend, a good partner and always strives to strengthen and expand potential relations and promote cooperation for development and the benefit of both countries.

For his parts, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his congratulations to H.E. Vladimir Putin for his re-elected as the President of Russian Federation and thanked for its valuable support and assistance to Cambodia after the country liberated from Khmer Rouge’s genocide regime.

The Cambodian Senate President also asked H.E. Ambassador to further engage for direct flights from Russia to Cambodia and emphasized that Russia is a long-standing Cambodia’s
friend and always be with Cambodia in difficult times as well as never interfere in Cambodia’s internal affairs.

Moreover, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Anatoly Borovik also touched on the diplomatic relations, military cooperation, trade, education, and tourism.
