CDC Secretary General Receives a Group of Japanese Investors

Cambodia’s Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), received here yesterday afternoon a group of Japanese investors led by Mr. Keiichi Yamada, General Manager of International Business Office of Oita Bank.

In this meeting, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea expressed warm welcome to the Japanese delegation and informed them of the investment opportunities and potential in Cambodia. He also highlighted the country’s political and macroeconomic stability, and security, the major factors maintaining the Cambodian economic growth at 7.7 percent on average in last two decades.

Cambodia has been recognised as one of the eight “Olympian Growth” economies in the world, he underlined.

Moreover, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea laid stress on the Cambodia Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025, potential young labour force, and trade preferences with the EU and other big markets.

For his part, Mr. Keiichi Yamada congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia on its achievements and expressed the satisfaction of Japanese investors with business activities in Cambodia.

Last year, Japan was the third biggest foreign investor in Cambodia, with US$822 million investment capital, about 22.78 percent of the total foreign investment in the Kingdom.
