China Provides 1 Million Doses of Livestock Vaccines to Cambodia

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China will provide 1 million doses of livestock vaccines to Cambodia to help contain the spread of diseases in the Kingdom.

H.E. Dith Tina, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said the vaccines include 500,000 doses of lumpy skin disease and 500,000 doses of foot and mouth disease.

“These vaccines will help to reduce the spread of diseases occurred and are occurring in the country in addition to the existing livestock vaccines that Cambodia has,” he said this morning.

H.E. Minister underlined that livestock sector plays an important role in increasing incomes, improving livelihoods and boosting the national economy.

“Livestock production depends mainly on factors associated with breed, feed, health management and market promotion. Over the past years, the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries have made efforts to promote this sector with significant progress, however we are still facing some challenges,” H.E. Dith Tina said.
