A large Chinese company, Fruit Day E-Commerce Co., Ltd., has announced plans to invest in Cambodia’s agricultural sector, focusing on fresh fruits growing, processing, packaging and exporting to China’s markets.
The interest was discussed in a meeting between Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon and Mr. Wang Bingham, Director General of Fruit Day E-Commerce Co., Ltd. and his team at the ministry early this week.
H.E. Veng Sakhon expressed his full support, stating that this investment project is in line with the ministry’s agricultural development plan to boost local agricultural production through agricultural modernisation.
Mr. Wang Bingham shared that after visiting and learning about the quality of Cambodian mango, longan, jackfruit, durian, fragrant coconut and pomelo, he was confident that there will be high demands of the products in China.
Both sides also discussed Cambodia’s export procedures and other logistical coordination and the preparation of an official investment agreement.
