Clean Energy for Remote Population in Cambodia

AKP Phnom Penh, After successful testing, Cambodia and South Korea are introducing hybrid wind and solar electric power for remote residents in Pursat, Kandal and Mondulkiri provinces.

The progress was shared during a recent workshop organised here in Phnom Penh under the chairmanship of Mines and Energy Secretary of State H.E. Ith Prang.

According to the secretary of state, each set of the initiated clean energy is capable of supplying 500 watt electric power 200 from solar and 300 from the wind energy.

Study shows that Cambodia is very potential for development of clean energy giving the country's weather condition.

The initiative of combining wind and solar systems to produce power in Cambodia will not only expand energy access, but also contribute positively to green environment in the country.
