CMAC Can Now Breed Mine-Detection Dogs

Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) has proved capability of facilitating the reproduction of mine-detection dogs, according to local media report.

The move was shared recently by the centre's Director General H.E. Heng Ratana, stressing that this will promote its self-sufficiency toward sustainable mine clearance services using dogs.

In other words, Cambodia will not have to spend money to buy mine-detection dogs from other country.

Cambodian Mine Action Centre has bred to date seven mine-detection dogs, added the source, pointed out that the centre has used some 200 mine-detection dogs from 1996 to 2015 and most of them are from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Thailand, India, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
