Cold Storage Facility to Serve Goods Exports and Imports In Kandal Province Breaks Ground

A cross-docking and cold storage facility broke ground in Kandal province on Tuesday, expecting to serve Cambodia’s growing export and import activities.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held under the presidency of H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport and representatives of foreign embassies in Cambodia, with the participation of relevant officials.

The construction is invested by InfraCo Asia through Khmer Cold Chain Company Limited with support from development partners such as the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, among others.

Speaking at the function, H.E. Sun Chanthol said that the facility at the Container Terminal LM17 in Kean Svay district of Kandal province will further support Cambodia’s growing export and import sector.

The cold chain storage facility will provide more than 36,000 cubic metres of capacity to meet the growing market demand for Cambodian and local farmers, agribusiness, food processing, pharmaceutical companies, retailers, he added.

Supporting Cambodia’s growing export and import sector through international standard cold chain storage facilities and warehousing services located near the port of Phnom Penh, and value-added services will help SMEs to enter the commercial market, H.E. Senior Minister said.
