Construction of Mental Health Care Centre Launched

Royal Government of Cambodia recently launched the construction of a building to provide care and treatment services for people with mental disorder.

With ten rooms, the building sits in the complex of Khmer-French-Hungarian Friendship Orphanage Centre located in Baku village and commune, Kandal Stung district of Kandal province – outskirts of Phnom Penh capital.

Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation H.E. Vorng Saut co-chaired the event with Phnom Penh Municipal Governor H.E. Pa Socheatevong and Kandal Provincial Governor Mao Phirun.

The construction of the centre for such service, addressed H.E. Pa Socheatevong to hundreds of participating officials, students and other locals, represents the attention of the Royal Government of Cambodia to people with mental instability.

Once done, the building will provide mental health care to people beyond the boundaries of Phnom Penh capital and Kandal province.
