Consular Office of Japan in Siem Reap Inaugurated

The Consular Office of Japan in Siem Reap province of Cambodia was officially opened on Sunday.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by H.E. Nakane Kazuyuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, with presences of Cambodian dignitaries including H.E. Seang Nam, Lawmaker for Siem Reap constituency, H.E. Nou Phalla, Chairman of Siem Reap Provincial Council, and H.E. Chhay Sinarith, Deputy National Police Commissioner.

We could see our close relationship in Siem Reap, such as approximately 200 thousand Japanese tourists visiting Angkor Wat every year and 370 Japanese residents and 19 Japanese companies working in Siem Reap, said H.E. Nakane Kazuyuki.

H.E. Nakane Kazuyuki also stated that he was sure that the opening of Consular Office in Siem Reap would bring our relationship to new stage, through the consul service as well as their work for promoting bilateral exchanges and he hoped that, in this memorable year of 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Cambodia, our relationship will develop furthermore.
