The Council of Ministers will construct a building to house bodyguards who will take care of security issues for government officials working there – thanks to a grant aid from the People’s Republic of China.

The two friends, Cambodia and China, entered an official agreement for the construction of security unit building on Tuesday at the Council of Ministers here in Phnom Penh.

Senior Minister H.E. Yim Nolla, Chairman of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council at the Council of Ministers represented the Cambodian side to co-sign the agreement with Mr. Li An, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, H.E. Yim Nolla expressed his appreciation and thanks to the Chinese side for the grant aid that will contribute vitally to maintain security at the Council of Ministers.

The People’s Republic of China, he added, has been supporting various sectors to promote development of Cambodia.

Sitting on 1,350 square metres with the design by Hunan Provincial Architectural Design Institute, the building of security unit has four stories and can accommodate about 80 bodyguards. The construction will begin in Oct. 2017 and last about 15 months.
