COVID-19: 658 New Cases, but 499 New Recoveries

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodia this morning recorded 658 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19); the tally thus stood at 98,842.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, 160 of the new infections were imported and the rest were linked to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.

Besides, it pointed out, 499 more patients have recovered, but 9 new deaths were registered; bringing the total cured and death cases in the Kingdom to 93,411 and 2,028, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 incident.
