COVID-19: New Omicron Cases Continue to Drop

The daily new cases of COVID-19 in Cambodia keep dropping, with only 73 cases reported this morning, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health.

Among the new infections, which are of Omicron variant, 65 were locally transmitted and 8 were imported, it pointed out.

Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally now rose to 135,158, including 14,705 Omicron cases (13,374 Omicron community cases).

Meanwhile, the source added, 72 more recoveries were recorded, and there is no new death; the total cured cases and death toll in the Kingdom therefore stood at 131,110 and 3,052, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province.
