COVID-19: Tally Crosses 40,000 Mark

Cambodia’s tally of COVID-19 jumped to 40,157 with the detection of 693 new infections this morning, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health.
The source underlined that of the new cases, 33 are imported and the rest are community cases linked to the Feb. 20 incident.
At the same time, it continued, 754 newly recovered patients were reported; bringing the total number of cured cases in the Kingdom to 34,325.
Besides, COVID-19 killed seven more people; the total fatal cases thus rose to 368, it pointed out.
The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.
