CPV General Secretary To Visit Cambodia This Week

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong will pay a state visit to Cambodia this week.

According a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation made public yesterday evening, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong will visit Cambodia from July 20 to 22, 2017, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

During the visit, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong will be received in Royal Audience by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia, at the Throne Hall and Preah Reach Damnak Kantha Bopha, Royal Palace, respectively.

H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong will call on His Holiness Samdech Preah Akka Maha Sangharajah Dhipati Tep Vong, Great Supreme Patriarch of Mahanikaya, and His Holiness Samdech Preah Abhisiri Sugandha Maha Sangharajah Dhipati Bour Kry, Great Supreme Patriarch of Dhammayuttikanikaya of Cambodia.

H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong will hold separate meetings with Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, and have an official meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

After the meeting, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong and Samdech Techo Hun Sen will preside over the signing ceremony on the Joint Statement on Strengthening the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation and a number of documents.

Besides, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong and Samdech Say Chhum will preside over the inauguration ceremony of the Monument of Cambodian-Vietnamese Friendship in Preah Sihanouk province.

H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong's state visit to Cambodia will indicate the strong and endured friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which would play a significant role in improving bilateral relations in all fields, as this year marks the 50th Anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
