CRC Collects Over US$16 Million for Humanitarian Activities

The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) has collected more than US$16 million on the occasion of the 159th anniversary of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8).

This is a high figure amid this COVID-19 crisis that the CRC could not hold any celebrations to mark the annual event, said Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in his second voice message today.

The Premier took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother, charitable people and all his compatriots for their contributions and support for the CRC’s humanitarian operations.

Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen is heading for Washington D.C. to attend and co-chair the ASEAN-U.S. Special Summit to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue Relations, on May 12-13.

According to the voice message, he is currently in Seoul, the Republic of Korea and will leave soon for Alaska, the U.S. before arriving in Washington D.C. on May 10 evening (or early morning of May 11, time in Cambodia).
