CRC Meets to Discuss 154th Anniversary of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) late last week organised a meeting to discuss the celebration of the 154th anniversary of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day to fall on June 8.

Chaired by Samdech Chaufea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace and Permanent CRC Vice President, the meeting took place at the organisation's headquarters here in Phnom Penh.

The meeting specified preparation assignments of the annual event and spelt out the roles and responsibilities of organising committees as well as sub-committees.

As planned, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and CRC President Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen will preside over the 154th anniversary to be participated by approximately 4,000 national and international charitable people, delegates and guests.

Last year's celebration of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day mobilised around US$14 million.
