Current Cambodian Premier To Run for Two More Mandates

Cambodia's Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has announced that he will stand for election for two more mandates.

I will run for the post of Prime Minister for two more mandates [] after I see treason acts [] in order to maintain peace, development, and increase job opportunities for the people, said the premier while holding a get-together with more than 10,000 workers at the Canadia Industrial Park, Phnom Penh this morning.

After the country's liberation from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime on Jan. 7, 1979 to 1993 Samdech Techo Hun Sen hold various posts in the Cambodian administrations of the People's Republic of Kampuchea and then the State of Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen was nominated Foreign Minister in 1979, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister from 1981 to 1985, and then Prime Minister and Foreign Minister from 1985 to 1991.

After the first national election in 1993, Samdech Techo Hun Sen served as the Co-Premier and then the second Prime Minister of the first coalition government, and became the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia from 1998 until now.
