According to H.E. Heng Ratana, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge as CMAC Director-General, Siem Reap was one of the three targeted provinces under the third-phase assistance from China.
The other provinces that the 2023-2025 project worth US$13.2 million covers are Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear.
H.E. Wang Wentian said that the assistance will further contribute to reducing death by landmines in Cambodia and to achieving landmine-free status by 2025.
Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh thanked the Government of China for the assistance, stressing that the demining operation will free two ancient temples in the area from landmines, allowing their access to both local and international tourists.
