Dengue Fever and Malaria Prevalence Down in 2016

Prevalence of dengue fever and malaria in 2016 was lower than in 2015, according to the National Centre for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control.

Dr. Huy Rekol, Director of the National Centre for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control shared the record during the center’s annual meeting organised recently at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

The prevalence of dengue fever, he added, was high among children in Mondulkiri, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap and Kampong Thom provinces.

Both Health Minister H.E. Dr. Mam Bunheng and Dr. Liu Yunguo, WHO Representative in Cambodia, who participated the meeting appreciated the hard work of National Centre for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control management and staff to bring down the prevalence of the two deadly diseases.
