Development Partners Appreciate Modernisation of Public Financial Management System in Cambodia

Representatives of European Union (EU) and development partners have lauded the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)'s efforts and commitment to successfully modernise public financial management system so far.

The appreciation was made at the 2016 Annual Review of Public Financial Management Reform Programme-Stage III, held here early this week under the presidency of Senior Minister Aun Porn Moniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance, with the participation of H.E. George Edgar, EU Ambassador to Cambodia, representatives of World Bank and development partners, and officials from relevant ministries and institutions, said the Ministry of Economy and Finance quoted in a local media report.

Public Financial Management Reform Programme (PFMRP)-Stage III, focuses on programme budgeting carried out at both national and subnational levels, said H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth.

Some 36 ministries and institutions have been implementing the programme budgeting since 2015 and six provincial administrations in 2016, he pointed out.

For his part, H.E. George Edgar said PFMRP has increased the domestic income collection and welcomed the strengthening and expansion of the implementation of public financial management system.
